Purpose:

A global pharmaceutical company focused on agile and sustainable growth and complex generics is seeking an Artwork Officer who will to ensure that all changes required to printed packaging/ artwork components are technically assessed and implemented on time and communicated as such to all relevant business stakeholders to help maintain an electronic system to ensure accurate and compliant artwork across the organisation

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Packaging Technology
  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, Adobe Pro and MS Teams is preferred
  • Practical experience in packaging management in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in regulatory affairs and quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage
  • Understanding of the Medicines & Related Substances Control Act 101/ 1965

 

Key Job Outputs:

  • Initiate and communicate approval of artwork as per the department artwork procedures
  • Liaise with internal and external cross functional teams for the implementation of new artwork or amendment to artwork
  • Conduct project management artwork projects
  • Ensure that the agreed timelines are continuously met
  • Obtain translations of approved documents in languages required
  • Obtain quotations from designers for new artwork when required
  • Author, update and maintain SOPs for the artwork department and implement such SOPs effectively
  • Provide training to company staff to ensure adherence to department SOP’s
  • Ensure the correctness of all technical aspects on artwork prior to the approval of artwork proofs
  • Ensure good document practices for all approvals in the lifecycle of product packaging material is maintained in the department
  • Ensure maintenance of artwork electronic systems and ensure optimal operations and functioning of the system
  • Manage submissions of monthly reports to the artwork manager timeously
  • Contribute or perform investigations when artwork is impacted
  • Initiate deviations, root cause investigations and CAPAs or comment on change controls through the electronic QMS
  • Manage effective communication between internal and external customers
  • Participate in internal self-inspections and external audits as appropriate
