Purpose:

A pharmaceutical company is seeking a Bosch Technician who will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Bosch machines and systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime, this role requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Bosch machinery, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and effectively

Key Job Outputs:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Bosch machinery and equipment, including automated systems
• Identify and troubleshoot faults in Bosch machines, electrical systems and mechanical components
• Perform repairs, adjustments and replacements to restore machines to proper working conditions
• Conduct regular inspections to monitor machine performance and prevent unplanned downtime
• Perform calibration, adjustments and parts replacements as needed
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs and parts used
• Document the causes of machine failures and the steps taken to resolve issues
• Work closely with production teams, millwrights and other maintenance staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Provide technical support for production teams as needed
• Keep track of spare parts inventory, ordering parts as necessary to ensure minimal downtime during maintenance
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve machine performance, reduce downtime and implement best practices in maintenance procedures
• Assist in the installation and setup of new Bosch machinery and systems
• Ensure that all equipment is properly calibrated and fully operational before use
• Perform in-process and other checks as per PM Schedule, and machine specifications, report, document and check the necessary information
• Perform routine strip-down, assembly, settings, and operation of equipment according to PM
• Perform and assist in changeover (batch-to-batch/product-to-product) as per the relevant SOP when required
• Participate in and facilitate root cause analysis and recommend improvements
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and project work
• Participate in and ensure that OEE (overall equipment efficiency), variation to standard and downtime is recorded and measured correctly
• Ensure that all work performed is logged on relevant job cards
• Ensure accurate and sufficient feedback of PM’s
• Participate in face-to-face handover as per SOP
• Adhere to prescribed daily, weekly, and monthly schedules and targets
• Ensure performance of services and utilities is in line with required standards of quality
• Ensure all work is conducted to HACCP, GMP and Safety standards

Qualifications:

• Mechanical/Electrical Qualification
• Qualified and trade tested as a technician

Experience:

• Must have at least 5 years work experience in FMCG related factories
• Sound knowledge and experience of working with FMCG Packing machines (Conveyors, Shrink Wrapping and Powder filling machines)
• Knowledge of PLC control systems would be an advantage
