Purpose:

A large audit, tax and advisory firm offering a wide array of services to clients within the public and private sectors is seeking a Data Centre Specialist who will take responsibility for the daily management of availability, continuity and capacity management for data centre and cloud elements for the company’s Southern African region division

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant Tertiary IT qualification
  • Microsoft MCSE or MCP including cloud systems such as Azure cloud administration fundamentals and related associate courses would be advantageous
  • VMWARE and Hyper- V administration
  • Successful completion of vendor administration training of relevant technologies ITIL Foundation
  • Network+
  • Experience\ understanding of ITIL concepts, change management processes
  • Comfortable to lead in your area of expertise, but also able to managed as required by the team
  • Focus on continuous improvement within the ITS function while advancing an ethical environment

Duties & Requirements

  • Take responsibility for providing specialist services that support the business objectives and strategy of the firm
  • Provide support to bridge the gap between technology and business
  • Facilitate innovative and effective use of technology and improved communication
  • Oversee software and hardware, asset procurement and management
  • Handle end user support, application development, reporting, systems analysis and networking
  • Take responsibility for daily management of the teams’ phone system on premise functionality
  • Manage the firm’s email services in O365, there are daily email relay and external email related support tasks to be completed
  • Handle the servicing of eDiscovery requests for data hosted in the O365 environment
  • Participate in a team that will include the managing of cloud hosted applications and services
  • Provide limited support for some on premise applications
  • Participate in a team responsible to address ongoing vulnerability risk management
  • Complete data centre related work, including Hyper-visor, storage, backup and relevant application tier elements which includes relevant ITIL domains including incident, change, problem and capacity management
  • Participate in design, plan and implement business continuity and disaster recovery capability for on premised DCs or Cloud solutions
  • Actively contribute and participate in KPMG’s cloud migration plans
  • Conduct daily proactive management and monitor all elements of DC and cloud performance
  • Engage with vendors or global IT to ensure delivery against SLAs and contracts
  • Contribute to new service deliverables including input into architecture and system design, product installation and ongoing support escalation
  • Maintain technical documents, support and operations manuals and knowledge base articles
  • Manage internal candidates to continue lead roles based in a different city or country
