Purpose:

A healthcare administration company is seeking a General Manager: Enterprise Architecture who will be responsible for envisioning, communicating, and evolving the organisation’s enterprise architecture; address key enterprise aspects – including organisational structure, business processes and strategies, value streams, data, and information, and supporting technologies; ensure alignment between the architecture strategy and overall enterprise vision

 

Key Job Outputs:

  • Defining and maintaining architectural standards: establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and guidelines that align with the organisation’s overall strategy
  • Ensure consistency in architectural approaches across different projects and solutions

Developing and Communicating the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Roadmap

  • Create and maintain an enterprise architecture roadmap that outlines the strategic direction for IT systems and infrastructure
  • Communicate the roadmap and its implications to stakeholders, including executive leadership and technical teams

Leading Solution Architecture Design

  • Oversee the design and implementation of complex IT solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and align with the enterprise architecture
  • Provide guidance and support to solution architects and development teams throughout the project lifecycle

Technology evaluation and integration

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization’s architecture
  • Lead efforts to integrate new technologies into the existing architecture in a scalable and secure manner

Ensuring scalability, security, and performance

  • Develop strategies to ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and perform well under expected workloads
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of the architecture to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues

Compliance and risk management

  • Legal, statutory and regulatory compliance (public accountability) on all requirements is implemented and maintained for function
  • Structures and frameworks for risk controls and governance within the function are implemented
  • Ensure function is a key contributor in terms of social awareness and corporate citizenship

Divisional leadership

  • Accountability for the function’s performance, within the agreed strategic framework
  • Develop and retain skilled, engaged employees
  • Promote transformation

Financial management

  • Accountability for functional budget and overall financial management

Operating model

  • Develop business plans to implement the defined integrated functional plans with peer divisions or functions
  • Optimise the function’s core internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve functional operating conflicts
  • Ensure IT systems are developed and maintained in accordance to user requirement specifications in line with Development Life Cycle standards
  • Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
  • Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access

Stakeholder management

  • Ensure appropriate, active and informative relationships with relevant stakeholders are in place
  • Drive delivery of customer expectations within organisational quality and quantity standards
  • Manage relationships and Service Level agreements with internal and external stakeholders

Strategy implementation

  • Remain up to date with macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry in general, to anticipate and plan for circumstances that may influence the development and implementation of the functional strategic plan
  • Provide input into and develop the functional strategic plan
  • Ensure strategy is implemented in a manner that supports operational and market imperatives
  • Communicate strategic context and strategic implementation plans to ensure operational best practice and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • BSC in Computer Science, MBA, TOGAF Certification would be preferred

 

Experience:

  • 12 years managing a variety of large IT projects with clear track record of increasing responsibilities, including 5 years at a senior management level

 

Salary:   Market related
