Purpose:

A pharmaceutical private manufacturer providing a dynamic range of products and services is seeking a Head of Engineering who will be responsible for maintaining the OEE in the production areas, also ensure the reliability and supply of all the utilities used on the site, this includes steam, compressed air, electricity, water plus all pharmaceutical grades of water, cooling and heating

Minimum Requirements:

• BSc Engineering / B Tech/ National Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• GCC (Government Certificate of Competence)
• Minimum 5 years in facilities or maintenance management, engineering principle, inventory management

Key Job Outputs:

• Ensure continuous operation of the facility and all production equipment
• Maintain the plant in a SAHPRA complaint state at all time
• Determines the required staff complement to adequately man the department, recruits and appoints staff as required
• Effectively manage the Engineering staff
• Develops key personnel to function effectively and ensures adequate back-up and succession planning within Engineering
• Prepares expenses and Capex budgets for the financial year in line with the Company strategic plan
• Monitors and controls the Engineering monthly expenditure to ensure adequate use of financial resources and investigates variances
• Ensures that cGMP organization requirements are applied in all areas where appropriate
• Ensures records are maintained to provide evidence of conformity to requirements and of the effective
• Operation of the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensures that the required verification, validation, monitoring, inspection and test activities specific to the equipment are in place
• Ensures that suppliers are selected in accordance organization procurement standards
• Prepares for and participates in the external audits that are conducted at planned intervals
• Ensures that the necessary corrective action is taken to eliminate the cause of non-conformities in order to prevent recurrence
