Purpose:
A global healthcare organization providing high quality, trusted medicines, expanding their access is seeking a Head of Marketing who will be responsible for leading a team of brand managers, in developing and executing marketing strategies for an expanding portfolio of products, which currently includes OTC, cardiovascular, diabetes and dermatology products
Minimum Requirements:
- Appropriate Business or Marketing Degree/ Diploma
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, with a specific focus on the OTC field
- Proven coaching skills
- Good understanding of financial management such as P&L management
- 8 to 10 years pharmaceutical marketing experience
- Experience managing brand managers is strongly preferred
- Extensive experience in the OTC field is strongly preferred
- Proven experience in working on digital marketing campaigns such as social media, websites and email campaigns
Key Job Outputs:
Duties & Requirements
- Conduct a successful launch of new brands and maximizing market share and operating profitability of key strategic product portfolios, as agreed upon by the marketing director
- Take responsibility for portfolio and product strategy, campaign development, market research, gap analysis and feasibility analyses
- Ensure brand and portfolio profitability through knowledge and management of product, price, promotion, place and costs
- Coach and develop brand managers
- Lead negotiation, partnerships and strategic engagements with key stakeholders including key opinion leaders, societies, wholesalers and pharmacy groups
- Work closely with medical affairs, supply chain, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, sales, key accounts, market access, training, legal and finance
- Handle business development and other internal stakeholders to guide the short, mid and long-term product and portfolio strategic direction for the products under their responsibility
- Develop omnichannel marketing plans for healthcare professionals and relevant stakeholders, with a strong focus on expanding digital initiatives.
- Lead and coach Brand Managers in a manner which enables them to develop and implement the best possible marketing campaigns for their respective portfolios, as well as to expand their competencies and abilities
- Work closely with advertising agencies and ensure delivery of strong marketing campaigns and deliverables for the respective portfolio
- Accountable for the execution of brand healthcare campaigns
- Develop in-depth understanding and become an expert in the respective therapeutic area, the customer/ patient relationship, and the brand
- Ensure delivery of brand financial goals through detailed analysis and understanding of short-term and long-term brand performances, with special emphasis on marketing program effectiveness and drivers of the business model
- Manage the product launch process through effective resource allocation, maximizing product life cycles, and ensuring portfolio optimization in line with the defined business strategy and plans
- Work closely with business development on gap analysis to identify new business opportunities
- Work closely with market access and strengthen relationships with relevant MHC companies and negotiate support on new product launches where relevant
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across, sales, medical, regulatory, finance, operations, supply chain, quality, legal and human resources
- Establish appropriate marketing systems and procedures to ensure efficient operations and appropriate control, based on quality and commitment to deliver on time
- Manage and control budget and expenditure according to product and portfolio priorities
- Ensure that all activities are planned and executed per all relevant legal and compliance mandates
