Job Overview
Purpose:
A pharmaceutical company is seeking a Medical Sales Representative who will be responsible to play a vital role in promoting their products to healthcare professionals and ensuring the achievement of company goals and objectives
Key Job Outputs:
Calling on pharmacist, general practitioners and clinics
- Visit assigned healthcare professionals in the area to provide product information and promote awareness
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare professionals to influence prescription behaviour as well as sales
- Achieve the company’s call rate targets to ensure comprehensive coverage of the target customer base
Achieving area budget
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and maximise market share within the assigned territory
- Continuously monitor sales performance, identify areas of improvement and take corrective actions to ensure the area reaches or exceeds the company budget
Carrying out company campaigns and activities
- Effectively implement marketing strategies, campaigns and promotional activities within the assigned territory
- Conduct product presentations, organise educational events and participate in medical conferences as required
- Provide timely feedback to the marketing team on market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to support the development of effective marketing strategies
Monthly country trip
- Be available to participate in a monthly country trip to collaborate with the national sales team, share best practices and align regional objectives with the company goals
Additional responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions with healthcare professionals in the CRM system
- Stay informed about the latest medical and scientific developments relevant to the assigned therapeutic areas
- Continuously enhance product knowledge and stay up-to-date with competitors’ products
- Comply with all relevant legal, ethical and regulatory guidelines governing pharmaceutical sales activities
Core Competencies:
- Excellent computer skills required, including but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, strong data skills etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage healthcare professionals
- Results-orientated mindset with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets
- Self-motived and able to work independently while also being a team player
- Familiarity with CRM systems and proficiency in using digital tools as well as MS Office for sales activities is an advantage
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field is advantageous
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Medical Representative or similar role in the pharmaceutical industry is desirable
- Strong understanding of sales and general medicine is highly desirable
Salary: Market related
