Purpose:

A chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Sales Export Manager who will be responsible for developing and managing international sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and build strong relationships with global clients; identifying new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction while complying with international trade regulations

 

Key Job Outputs:

International Sales & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for international clients, developing strong relationships and fostering trust
  • Understand the specific needs, challenges, and market conditions of each export region, tailoring strategies accordingly
  • Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, address concerns, and identify opportunities for business expansion
  • Regularly visit export countries on a monthly basis to strengthen relationships, understand market dynamics, and provide on-ground support

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts by understanding their evolving needs and market trends
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand product offerings, increase market share, and maximise revenue potential
  • Prospect and onboard new retail accounts, leveraging existing networks and industry knowledge to drive business growth

Strategic planning

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and product teams, to develop strategic account plans aligned with company objectives
  • Set clear objectives, milestones, and KPIs for each account, and develop actionable plans to achieve them
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive landscape, and industry trends to anticipate challenges and capitalise on opportunities

Negotiation and Contract Management

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with retail partners to maximize profitability while maintaining strong relationships
  • Draft and review contracts, proposals, and agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Manage contract renewals, extensions, and amendments in collaboration with legal and finance teams

Forecasting and demand planning

  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer demand to forecast inventory requirements for international markets
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure timely production, shipping, and product availability
  • Identify potential logistical challenges and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks

Customer service and support

  • Address customer inquiries, requests, and issues in a timely and professional manner, serving as a trusted advisor and problem solver
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve concerns related to product quality, shipping, or regulatory compliance
  • Ensure international clients receive exceptional service and support, fostering long-term business relationships

Market analysis and insights

  • Monitor global market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor strategies to identify opportunities and threats
  • Gather insights from international clients to inform product development and marketing strategies
  • Share market intelligence and competitive analysis with internal teams to support strategic decision-making

Performance monitoring and reporting

  • Track and analyse key performance metrics such as sales revenue, market share, customer satisfaction, and profitability
  • Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate sales performance and market trends
  • Conduct post-mortem analyses of key initiatives to assess effectiveness and drive improvements

Relationship building and networking

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, agents, and retailers
  • Attend international trade shows, exhibitions, and business forums to expand industry connections and explore new opportunities
  • Leverage professional networks and industry associations to identify potential clients and market expansion prospects

Regulatory compliance and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and export documentation requirements
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies, customs brokers, and legal teams to facilitate smooth export operations
  • Stay updated on changing international trade policies, tariffs, and legal frameworks affecting global sales

Continuous improvement and professional development

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in export sales
  • Pursue professional development opportunities through training, workshops, and certifications
  • Solicit feedback from clients and internal teams to enhance sales strategies and customer service

Promotional planning and execution

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns tailored for international markets
  • Coordinate product launches, trade promotions, and marketing activities with distributors and retail partners
  • Monitor the effectiveness of promotional efforts and adjust strategies to optimize market impact

Cross-selling and upselling

  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities by understanding the needs of international clients

Channel management and distribution

  • Develop and manage international distribution channels, ensuring optimal market coverage

  • Implement initiatives to retain international customers and strengthen brand loyalty
