Section Head: Manufacturing (UHT) 19 views

Purpose:

A pharmaceutical company is seeking a Section Head: Manufacturing (UHT) who will manage and lead the production/processing teams and shifts in UHT

Key Job Outputs:

• Manage and supervise the manufacturing of UHT products
• Monitor the execution of production plans and take corrective measures where necessary
• Before starting up ensure that filler equipment is CIP and sterile
• Ensure that weekly service is conducted accordingly
• Ensure that shift checks on machines, cubicles, scales and overall cleanliness are conducted
• Identify and report on operational problems/issues out of specification
• Ensure the discarding of waste according to the relevant SOP’s
• Ensure deviations encountered are communicated to the management and engineering and assist with investigation as and when required
• Participate in and facilitate root cause analysis and recommend improvements
• Participate and ensure the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and action accordingly
• Participate in and ensure that OEE, VPM, PLMS variation to standard and downtime is recorded and measured correctly
• Conduct pre-shift and handover meetings
• Plan changeovers with relevant engineering personnel
• Ensure that teams update production score boards daily
• Manage and ensure departmental compliance SHE, HR, GMP and HACCP responsibilities, audits, and activities
• Plan, lead, allocate and manage departmental activities, resources, and tasks in accordance with agreed budgets, service/delivery targets and daily/weekly/monthly plans
• Manage departmental absenteeism
• Control all inventory in areas of responsibility and ensure cycle counts/stock stakes meet control requirements
• Meet targets on yields and write offs
• Ensure daily departmental targets and efficiencies are met
• Accept responsibility for the discipline and performance management of the manufacturing team

Qualifications:

• National Diploma or B Tech Degree in Production/Operations
• Supervisory or Management certificate/diploma/degree would be an advantage
• Tetra Pak Certificates for A3 Flex/VTIS

Experience:

• 3 – 5 years specific Tetra Pak Manufacturing equipment experience at Packing, Processing and Downstream
