Job Purpose
The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building long-term relationships with clients, and increasing revenue. The role focuses on creating strategies to attract potential clients, acquire business and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring the company meets its growth and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and target potential clients to promote the companys services (talent hires, psychometrics, business funding programmes and pre-employment verifications).
- Develop and execute business development plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, social media, and industry events.
- Prepare and deliver effective sales pitches and proposals to potential clients.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with clients, ensuring profitability.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Regularly meet with clients to assess their recruitment needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Monitor client satisfaction and take proactive steps to address any concerns.
Market Research & Strategy
- Conduct market research to identify emerging industry trends, potential clients, and competitor activities.
- Analyse data to identify opportunities for growth and develop innovative business strategies.
- Provide insights to the management team on market trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the recruitment team to ensure client needs are effectively met.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create campaigns that attract both clients and candidates.
- Support the development of marketing materials, such as brochures, social media content, and client presentations.
Reporting
- Prepare and submit regular reports on business development activities, pipeline progress, and financial performance.
- Track and analyse key metrics to evaluate the success of strategies and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, within the talent space / staffing industry.
Skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies.
- Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge/ experience of recruitment and staffing processes
