Purpose:
An international law firm is seeking a Business Development Officer who will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, enhancing client relationships, and promoting the firm’s profile, people and services in a local, regional and global context through the utilisation of a range of marketing and business development tactics, activities and channels
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in marketing, communications; or, a legal degree
- Min 5 years in a B2B marketing environment
- Previous experience in business development or marketing within the legal professional is highly desirable
- Experience and a strong understanding of the legal industry and services
- Hands on experience in managing strategic bids, tenders and RFPs
- Hands on experience in managing legal directories
Key Job Outputs:
- Assists in execution of the firm’s business development and marketing plan set by the firm’s Marketing Committee and Board of Directors
- Manages the firm’s profiles on and submissions to online directories (Legal500, Chambers and Partners, IFRL1000, lobal league tables), coordinates deal reporting process; submits information for attorney and firm awards, promotes awards, and determines which directories should be launched and maintained
- Prepares and maintains legal marketing and business development materials for the firm and lawyers with marketing support: print and online brochures, company profiles, credentials and experience statements, flyers, etc.
- Assists with sourcing appropriate strategic bids and tenders and RFPS
- Manages, coordinates and develops the firm’s bid library and texts
- Manages and drafts the firm’s responses to strategic bids and tenders with Team Leader oversight (not responsible for fee quotes)
- CRM software management
- Participates in planning and presentation efforts as appropriate (including presentation packets, slides, etc.)
- Creates and maintains expertise and sector specific CVs for lawyers
