Purpose:
An animal health company is seeking a Veterinary Account Specialist – Ruminants who will be responsible for engaging with some of our most key ruminant veterinarian, and veterinary channel customers, a strong affinity for the technical and scientific aspects of our products and the associated conditions is essential, as well as a strong concept and understanding of the business aspect of selling high quality veterinary pharmaceuticals
Key Job Outputs:
- The person in role is required to develop mutually beneficial and productive long-term partnerships with our veterinary customers (vet direct accounts, non-direct vet accounts and veterinary wholesalers) and maintain these relationships with the appropriate quantity and quality of activity; he/she will work collaboratively to utilise the resources from the marketing team, technical team and BUD to bring a significant level of knowledge and expertise to the customer
- Detailing and selling: through strong technical proficiency; excellent product knowledge and understanding, meeting customer’s requirements thereby promoting company products using solution selling techniques
- Territory and veterinary customer base analysis, identification of high potential veterinary and selected farmer customers; establishing and maintaining of client relationships, management of budgets, identification and reporting of opportunities, ensure promotions are planned and implemented successfully as per marketing strategy; organise and present at key farmer study group information events, in collaboration with the specific veterinary customer
- Territory administration: regular updating of Sales Force, Touchpoint and planning calls

Qualifications:
- Degree in Veterinary Science, Veterinary Nursing, Agriculture or Animal Science or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years animal health experience, and some sales experience essential
- Previous sales and/or marketing experience in the Animal Health industry would be preferable
- A valid driver’s license
- A willingness and ability to travel extensively within the territory (routes will involve significant overnight travel)
